RACQUET BAND is the FIRST BTM "band" hailing from Hampden-Sydney, Virgina where our
Dad was chemistry professor at the college there. It started in 1966 with myself (Bill T Miller)
and my younger brothers David and Greg in the living room and then later moved the garage.
Our "instruments" were tennis racquet guitars, plastic trash can drums, broom stick mike
stand with a dixie cup for a mike all set-up to lip-sync to records and have fun. Our MOM
shot a minute of (silent) super 8 film and a few snapshots, but no audio was ever recorded since
we were mostly just jamming to Beatles records. I added Carl Dickoff and David Simpson to the line-up
who were my own age (nine years old) and Greg's friend Melinda on tambourine and the rest is history.

RACQUET ROCK

In May 1966 we moved from Virginia to North Carolina and by 1968 a new band
with real instruments was formed called The Electric Onion.
